The Permit Was Filed in March. Your Competitor Called in April. You Called After the Equipment Was Already Financed.

Public records have been available to everyone for a decade. The only thing that changed is whether a lender can convert a filing into a call that lands before the decision is made.

At a Glance

  • The constraint was never data access. Every lender can buy the same permit, lien, and filing feeds. The difference is whether six specific triggers are defined, owned, and worked on a clock.
  • Most public-data projects in equipment finance fail the same way: a vendor contract, a list pushed into the CRM, and a sales floor that stops opening it by week three.
  • A signal is only useful if it precedes the equipment decision by enough time and gives the caller something specific to say. Signals failing either test generate activity and no pipeline.
  • What AI changes here is entity resolution and reading unstructured filings at volume — not prediction. Anyone selling propensity scores on public data is selling the wrong part.
